About Islam:
The word Islam is an Arabic root word meaning “peace” and “submission.” Islam teaches that one can only find peace in one’s life by submitting to Almighty Allah in heart, soul and deed. The same Arabic root word gives us “Asalaam o alaykum,” (“Peace be with you”), the universal Muslim greeting. A person who believes in and consciously follows Islam is called a Muslim, also from the same root word. So, the religion is called “Islam,” and a person who believes in and follows it is a “Muslim.” Allah is the proper name for Almighty God, and is often translated merely as “God.” Allah has other names that are used to describe His characteristics: the Creator, the Sustainer, the Merciful, the Compassionate, etc. Muslims believe that since Allah alone is the Creator, it is He alone that deserves our devout love and worship. Islam holds to a strict monotheism. Any worship and prayers directed at saints, prophets, other human beings or nature is considered idolatry.
About Holy Quran:
Humans are able to differentiate and choose between the right and wrong but the difference is difficult to identify firstly and if we succeeded in identifying then the selection is neither too easy. Different cultures has different moral values and it’s a very hard task to nominate the cultural value as a good or bad deed. One value could be a good deed in a specific culture but on the other hand it could be a crime in the other one. As a psychological fact according to the modern research a man’s personality is developed by the cultural values that he inherent from the environment where he lives. The Book that Allah gave to His Messenger through revelation, and which his messenger passed on to the Humanity in the form in which we know it today. The internal evidence provided by the Qur’an itself, as well as historical research, proves that the original Quranic text has not been changed or is likely to be altered in the future. This is a unique attribute of the Qur’an and is not shared by any other revealed book now extant. The Qur’an embodies the deen (The System of life) revealed to the earlier prophets (Messengers of God) in its true and perfect form. The mode of expression of the Quran is neither poetry nor prose, but has its own style and rhythm. It has a rare beauty and grandeur, and is sublime. According to the fact mention in Holy Quran, a man is neither good nor bad by birth, but the power and freedom that mends his nature. Allah has blessed him with immerse potentialities. If he utilizes his energies for the moral and material advancement of mankind, he could be considered as a good person and if he fails to manage his positive character for the wellbeing of humanity, he could be considered as bad one. By following the path specified by the creator of this universe Allah, a man can Achieve the status of a mo’min( a person at peace with himself and the world by successfully resolving his inner and outer conflicts). And this guidance has been given by the Holy Quran that shows the way to harmony within an individual and also in the society with principles, values and laws related to every field of life.
